Anees Fatima Hakim
I’m Anees Hakim, a Systemic Family Therapist living and working in London. I have experience working for the NHS in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), and with Children’s Social Services. I enjoy my work and am forever learning from the diverse range of referrals that come my way. I use a Systemic Approach to help families and individuals build on their strengths, tackle relationship dynamics, establish healthy boundaries, navigate change, or deal with loss and trauma; to understand themselves and their relationships in a better way. I have a special interest in stories around culture, religion, and migration; and how these shape our identity – but also how we are positioned in society in terms of power, oppression and whose voice is heard or how ‘belonging’ is experienced. I teach on various family therapy trainings in London and run my own workshops for therapists working in Pakistan for the specific dilemmas that they encounter. I offer supervision, and consultations where my aim is to join with therapists to incorporate systemic ideas into their current practice. On a more personal level: I’m adjusting to being a new stepmom. I love the outdoors, and I crochet to de-stress.
