Fatima Hussain
Fatima is a BACP registered therapist trained at the University of Edinburgh, offering culturally sensitive and inclusive counseling to adults experiencing emotional difficulties or navigating relationship challenges. She works with individuals (above 16) and couples. Fatima provides clients with a confidential and non-judgmental therapeutic space to explore past experiences, deepen awareness of underlying issues, and identify patterns in their lives. Her goal is to create an environment where she collaborates with her clients to help them understand their past and present more clearly, enabling them to deal with life's challenges with increased compassion and reduced anxiety. With several years of experience, Fatima has worked extensively with issues such as depression, life transitions, loss, blended families, fertility challenges, infidelity/betrayals, and gender and sexual identity. More recently, she has developed an interest in questions of identity, belonging, migration, integration, and isolation. In her work with couples, Fatima offers a safe space to explore and address relationship strains such as conflict, differing sexual desire, communication blocks, lack of relationship vision, co-parenting challenges, and betrayals. She supports couples in understanding their relationship and making well-informed decisions about its future. As a GSRD (Gender & Sexual & Relationship Diversity) trained therapist, she is equipped to work with intimate relationships beyond couples, including polyamory, open relationships, and multi-party sexual encounters. Outside her clinical practice, Fatima has worked with several local and international organizations to develop and deliver well-being courses, trainings, and workshops Types of therapy offered include Psychodynamic, Integrative, Trauma-informed, EMDR therapy, Couples therapy, Relational Psychotherapy, and Systemic Family Therapy.
