Maha Abbasi
“To truly learn and grow in life, one must leave one’s comfort zone and be vulnerable. There is no bravery without vulnerability. Similarly in therapy, to be able to step into a room, and learn to trust the safety of that space, with the sole intention of getting to know yourself without the shackles of shame or any preset expectations, is undoubtedly a life changing experience.” Maha Abbasi is a California based therapist, working in the field of mental health since 2017. She works with teens and adults in short and long-term psychotherapy. She has experience working with a range of concerns including but not limited to depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, grief and bereavement, abuse, trauma, and life transitions. Maha completed her graduate program from Columbia University, on a Fulbright Scholarship. She has an MA in Psychological Counseling and EdM in Mental Health Counseling. She has since completed certifications in trauma informed care, anxiety, and complicated grief. She works relationally ensuring a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential space for the clients as the basic premise of their work together. With an overarching trauma informed lens, she works collaboratively with her clients to help them build self-awareness and truly be their organic self, living an authentic life.
