Rida Malik
My name is Rida Malik and I am a UK qualified psychotherapist. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and have been working in private practice for over 5 years with adult individuals. I have experience in working with a range of mental health issues including grief and bereavement, anxiety, depression, childhood neglect, childhood sexual abuse, relationship challenges, and low self esteem. I have particular interest in post traumatic growth and transformation. I work with my clients in a relational, holistic, pluralistic and collaborative manner, and believe in ‘meeting the client where they’re at’. This means that I draw from and embrace a range of therapeutic modalities and principles (person-cantered, psychodynamic, relational, internal family systems) tailored to the unique needs of the client. I have deep respect for the human spirit and the innate capacity to grow and thrive. As your therapist, I will strive to create a non-judgmental, safe, and respectful space for you to explore your life concerns, both past and present. The aim is to foster self-awareness and a sense of autonomy so you may thrive in your life and relationships. I bring softness, candidness, and (where appropriate) sense of humor into the therapy space. When I am not in my therapist shoes, I enjoy painting, cooking, discovering cozy cafes and good coffee, scouring vintage markets, and travelling.
