Saleha Javed
I have 9 years of experience working in England, Pakistan and currently in Canada. My journey with psychology started in 2016 when I graduated in BA Criminology and BSc Psychology (Joint Hons) in the United Kingdom. After my undergraduate I decided to take a gap year to find a job and put my theoretical knowledge into practice. I started working as an Assistant Psychologist for a year after which I did my master’s in forensic psychology from Royal Holloway, University of London. I continued working as an Assistant Psychologist simultaneously. I believe during this time my temperament molded into a non-biased, calm, and empathic individual. This happened very organically because I was in a forensic ward, surrounded by juveniles and extreme cases. In 2018, I decided to open my own clinic and provide exceptional services in Pakistan. I believe my temperament further developed into a proactive, strong-willed individual who understands the system and knows her clients and what they need. I am currently working in Canada. My primary goal is to provide high quality, personalized therapy to individuals, guiding them with empowerment across all aspects of life. Due to my exposure in different parts of the world, I can connect with individuals who are finding it difficult to find their space in Canada. I have also had vast experience with individuals experiencing trauma and complex trauma due to their past lives in another country (wars, refugees etc) or due to their transition in a new country (immigration issues, racism etc). I enjoy traveling and exploring different cultures and cuisines. I love long walks and find them very therapeutic. I love spending time in nature- from going on long hikes, cycling around new spots to try adventurous activities. I love working with Adolescents, Young Adults (early 20s to late 30s). I specialize in: 1. Anxiety 2. Depression 3. Body Image 4. Eating disorders/ Body Dysphoria 5. Sexuality/ life transition 6. Confidence 7. Burn out/ Occupational barriers 8. OCD 9. Bi-polar 10. Trauma work- with refugees, domestic abuse etc. I also work with Couples (Certified Gottman Institute) I have worked with a diverse group of clients: United Kingdom (where I was working in a high risk mental health hospital), Pakistan (I opened up my own clinic and worked with individuals from the age of 14- 30), In currently Canada since 2021.
